U-Report global developed a Mental Health chatbot that invites U-Reporters to break the stigma around mental health and learn how to communicate their feelings better through the interactive chatbot. The chatbot, developed with the support of the Child Protection and Adolescent Health teams of UNICEF and provides tips to encourage young people to normalize conversations around mental health with their peers and loved ones, increase their knowledge about it, and drive greater self-awareness on the importance of taking care of their own mental health.
It is linked to the objective of promoting supportive relationships with peers, families, and teachers, combined with open, honest, and stigma-free conversations as one of the main protective factors for children's and young people's positive mental health and well-being. The broader campaign is more comprehensive and calls for urgent action and investment in child and adolescent mental health.
