In the remote village of Bihar, Vinay Kumar, a dedicated U-Reporter conducts U-Report sessions to empower the youth. Vinay is from Gaunaha, West Champaran, Bihar and he conducted his sessions in Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya Madhopur Bairia, Rajkiya Madhya Vidyalaya Amolwa, and Rajkiya Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya Mouje Madhopur Urdu.
The program, held on the 16th and 18th of March, 2024, was not without its challenges. Upon arrival, Vinay faced the initial hurdle of gaining entry into the schools. With the principal’s approval, he proceeded to engage with the teachers and requested a brief moment to address the students. Despite the noise and distractions, Vinay conducted the sessions succesfully.
He opened with a song, which not only quieted the room but also set the stage for a meaningful dialogue about their well-being and aspirations. While showcasing the Mission Life chatbot he encouraged them to contribute to environmental sustainability by planting trees, especially on their birthdays, to foster a healthier ecosystem.
Vinay helped them on creating their IDs, on U-Report India. He attributes the success of these sessions to the headmaster of the schools.
