1st Event
Radhika had always been interested in talking to people and raising awareness about various social issues in her village. After becoming a U-Ambassador for U-Report India, she had decided to inform people and school children in her village about this amazing platform.
She faced only one problem: due to the rural area, there was a lack of network and most of the school children did not have phones, so she thought she might not be able to connect more people to this platform. But then she thought, let's start somewhere, and with this thought, she talked to the principal of the Government Boys Secondary School Ramakona and gave him information about this platform. He was very happy and gave her permission to conduct a session. There were 40 children in it. She gave all the information about the U-Report in that school, which the children liked very much.
She told them what U-Report India is, how it works, how we can join it, and also told them that we do not need to download any separate app to join it, we can also connect to U-Report India through WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook. After that she told them about the fun assignments of FunDoo. She also shared information on topics such as skill development, employment, climate change, mental health, English speaking skill development. She also told them how to use U-Report India through WhatsApp Chat Board. At the end she gave information about U-Points, certificates, and gifts.
That same day she talked to the principal of another nearby school Thakkar Bappa Vanavasi Higher Secondary School Ramakona and he also gave her permission to conduct a session in which 90 children participated. She again gave all the previous information about U Report India. She was very happy that she tried and because of that the information of this knowledge-enhancing platform reached the children.
