Introducing U-Ambassador Himanshu Vishwakarma, hailing from the serene village of Rampur in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. At 19 years old, Himanshu is a dedicated student pursuing his Bachelor of Arts at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya Rajkiya Mahavidyalya, Muktiganj Jaunpur. Alongside his studies, he actively participates in the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of his college.
Himanshu's journey with U-Report India commenced in 2022 when he joined as a U-Reporter after a compelling seminar on Skill India. Since then, his involvement has been nothing short of inspiring. He has engaged in a wide array of activities, including Mission LiFE tasks, Passport 2 Earning, Career Guidance, FunDoo Task, and Opinion Polls, amassing an impressive 3710 U-points. Notably, Himanshu is one of the three dynamic U-reporters from Uttar Pradesh who have been selected for the inaugural edition of the U-Report India U-Ambassadors program. In his role as a U-Ambassador, Himanshu passionately introduces U-Report India to the youth in his community, connecting them to opportunities that foster holistic development. His dedication serves as an inspiration to many.
On October 16, 2023, Himanshu orchestrated a U-Report Advocacy Session in collaboration with Saraswati Shishu Mandir School, Muftiganj. The session's primary objective was to encourage approximately 20 students to join the U-Report India platform and proudly become U-Reporters.
Himanshu initiated the session with an engaging question, inquiring about the students' knowledge of UNICEF India. His smart and interactive approach immediately captured their attention. Following this, he delved into the students' interests, including their desire to learn English in a fun way, become Mission LiFE Champions, share their opinions on diverse issues, and explore various career avenues. This approach served as an excellent icebreaker.
The presence of the class head and the principal during the session added significance to the event. Himanshu introduced the U-Report India platform to the students, igniting their enthusiasm due to the myriad of opportunities it offered. To illustrate the platform's functionality, Himanshu conducted a live demonstration of the U-Report India WhatsApp chatbot using his smartphone. He directed the students to note down the official WhatsApp number, 9650414141, highlighting the availability of the U-Report India chatbot on platforms like Telegram, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.
Towards the session's conclusion, Himanshu encouraged the students to voice any queries they might have about U-Report India. In response, a student named Harshit raised his hand, inquiring about the available language options on the U-Report chatbot. Himanshu was delighted to inform him that the U-Report India chatbot is accessible in all major Indian languages, including Hindi and English.
In closing, Himanshu shared his personal journey with the students, revealing that he had once been a student in the same school. He spoke of the valuable knowledge he had gained through the U-Report India platform, leaving the students feeling inspired. Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the principal, teachers, and students, the session came to an end.
