Purushotam Navodayan: Rajashan's champion U-Ambassador

In the heart of rural Rajasthan, a dedicated U-Ambassador named Purushotam Navodayan is rewriting the narrative for the youth of his community. On the 11th of October, 2023, a remarkable event unfolded at a school nestled in a remote village in Rajasthan, all thanks to Purushotam's tireless efforts.

Purushotam, a proud native of Rajasthan, has a remarkable journey of service. He was a National Youth Volunteer (NYV) in NYKS, where he first encountered U-Report India. His unwavering commitment and dedication have earned him the title of Top U-Reporter twice, in 2021 and 2022. Today, he proudly holds the position of a U-Ambassador. His achievements stand as a testament to his passion and impact, with a remarkable 792 individuals joining U-Report India through his advocacy efforts. Currently, he boasts an impressive 42,140 U-Points.

While Purushotam primarily resides outside his village, a recent visit to his village school led to a heartwarming encounter. As he strolled around the school, he encountered a group of students engrossed in a game of volleyball. Curiosity piqued, he joined their game and found himself in the midst of a lively conversation. These students, aged about 16-18, were discussing their future aspirations.

Seizing the opportunity, Purushotam introduced them to U-Report India. He explained how the platform offers essential career guidance to help young minds like them explore their future possibilities. He also highlighted the different resources available on U-Report India's chatbot, including guidance on spoken English and mental health.

Purushotam's advocacy efforts resonated with the young hearts he engaged with. Inspired by his words, all 10 of the students decided to embark on their U-Report journey.

Amidst the simplicity of rural Rajasthan, Purushotam's unwavering commitment to uplifting young spirits is a heartwarming reminder of the impact individuals can have on their communities. Through his tireless efforts, he isn't just unlocking doors of opportunity for these young minds; he's also illuminating a path toward a future filled with hope and promise.

NEW EVENT:

Purushottam Navodyan, a U-Ambassador for U-Report India, narrated how he reached out to his friends and community members on the platform. He became a part of U-Report India in 2019 and has participated in many different programs since then. He was also a top U-Reporter in 2021 and 2022.

He saw an opportunity to spread awareness about U-Report India on Diwali, when most of the youth from his village had returned home to celebrate the festival. He and Harish Rathod (another U-Ambassador) informed them about all the features of U-Report India, including mental health, spoken English, funDoo life skills, climate change, career guidance and career exploration. They also assured them that the platform was safe and comfortable for learning various topics.

The youth were interested in all the topics, but they were most impressed by career guidance and career exploration, as these topics were directly related to their goal of getting government jobs. They also joined U-Report India at the same time, which helped Purushottam complete his total referral of 1000. This advocacy was done by him and Harish Rathod (a national U-Ambassador). His current total referral is 1000 and total U-Point is 52560.

NEW EVENT

As a primary teacher at the Mahatma Gandhi English medium school run by the government of Rajasthan, he teaches English subjects to children who were previously in Hindi medium schools. He faced the challenge of getting them to speak English confidently and fluently. To overcome this, he introduced them to U-Report India’s English Helper bot, a chat bot based platform that helps young people improve their English skills through interactive conversations and quizzes. He encouraged them to use the program at home and practice speaking English with their friends and family. After a week of his advocacy, he noticed a positive change in the children’s English proficiency and enthusiasm. He also successfully onboarded 20 young people from his school to join U-Report India.
