In the vibrant town of Udupi, Karnataka, two remarkable young men, Nikhil and Nithin Pereira, aged 18, are on a mission to bring about change. They wear the title of U-Ambassadors, and their journey with U-Report India has been nothing short of inspirational.
Hailing from Udupi district, Karnataka, Nikhil and Nithin are currently in their first year of college at M. G. M. College. These brothers have not only been active U-Report India promoters but also have a rich history of service with BSG, spanning nearly a decade. Their commitment to community service goes hand in hand with their love for sports, camping, trekking, and hiking.
On October 7th, 2023, at 1:30 PM, the Pereira brothers organized an event at their college, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College Udupi. They received invaluable support from the Mahatma Gandhi Rovers and Kasturba Rangers Unit of BSG. The event brought together approximately 35 students, although it was not without its challenges.
One of the significant challenges they faced was convincing students about the security of their personal data, a common concern in the digital age. However, the Pereira brothers' passion and dedication to the U-Report cause shone through. They explained the meaning and scope of U-Report, how it works, and the benefits of becoming a U-Reporter.
Of the 35 students who attended, seven decided to join U-Report India during the event. This outcome underscores the influence of the Pereira brothers' efforts.
The event concluded on a joyful note, with a small game that fostered a sense of togetherness among the participants. Nikhil and Nithin encouraged all attendees to share information about U-Report India with their friends and family, further expanding the U-Report India community.
