health is a topic of importance in our lives, and as we are celebrating the World
Mental Health Day (10 October), it is vital to reflect on the state of
mental well-being of the youth. To gain insights into the thoughts and
concerns of me and individuals across India, we turn to the valuable data
collected by U-Report India's Mental Health Bot and other reputable
sources like U-Report India, UNICEF, and UN Agencies. In this writing, I will explore the key findings from U-Report India's mental health polls conducted between 2021 and 2023, highlighting on the critical issues surrounding the mental health of peoples. |

Results: A Glimpse into India's Mental Health Landscape 1.2021
Poll Results In 2021, U-Report India conducted a comprehensive poll on mental
health, revealing a concerning trend. The survey received responses from 28,831 U-Reporters across India, a significant percentage of respondents expressed their interest in participating to learn about “How to start a conversation about Mental Health with someone you are concerned about” and “How to communicate better about what’s on your mind”. This shows the interest of the young generation in becoming more aware of the need for good mental health. |

2. 2022 Poll Results The 2022 poll results showed some improvements, in young people participation in Mental Health conversations as more than 90% of the young people said that they are willing to learn “how to build greater self-acceptance, challenging stereotypes, and get tips on talking about mental health”. |

Poll Results The most recent data from 2023 paints a mixed picture. The survey received responses from 34,934 U-Reporters
across India. It showed how young people are willing to know about the “fundamentals
