Saving Water is important, but how?

In a world grappling with environmental issues, India's #MissionLife, led by U-report India, unites people from across the nation to raise environmental awareness. This revolution, with our combined effort, has gathered 207,831 U-reporters, inspiring change and saving our planet.

Water is vital for life, but its mismanagement leads to future shortages. 61% (60,000 out of 154,984) U-reporters pledged to Save Water – they're the real heroes for a secure water future!

Changing my lifestyle after learning from U-Report’s #MissionLiFE campaign

According to me, Reusing Water from various household activities is an important and easily doable practice. At my home, I've consistently reminded my parents and relatives about the importance of collecting and reusing water from washing rice, pulses, fruits, and vegetables. This eco-conscious practice not only conserves water but also enhances our gardening efforts.

After each meal preparation, we collect the nutrient-rich water in a designated container. We allow it to cool before distributing it to our plants. This process not only minimizes water wastage but also ensures that our garden thrives. The plants benefit from the added nutrients in the rinse water, reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers.

The second step I took was to find the leakage in my house and fix it sustainably.  A tap with dripping water always seems insignificant to us, we think what is going to happen in all this?, but that tap and our thinking wastes the water. Fixing those leaks saves a lot of water.

According to my views, It is our duty to pass on the sense of environmental responsibility to the next generation.  Teaching children about the environment and explaining their responsibility in protecting the environment should inculcate lifelong values and ensure a brighter more sustainable future.

An impressive 83% of U-Reporters who participated in the #MissionLiFE campaign, support and are willing to contribute in saving the environment by changing their Lifestyle, which itself is proof that the campaign was a success.  This mission is not just an expedition;  It is a testament to the power of collective environmental consciousness among today’s youth.
